While the Marina is open, we still have CDC guidelines to follow. Please practice social distancing in all common areas of Marina. Facemasks are required on all patrons while not on their boat.

Joppatowne Marina was established in 2016 and is located in the heart of Joppatowne, Maryland. The Marina (formerly Gunpowder Cove Marina) originally opened in 1966 and has been drawing boaters from Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware since. We have 270 wet slips all equipped with water/electric and 300 total high/dry racks inside/outside, as well as brand new lift slips! We offer 24 hour surveillance with gated access for security. The Marina provides fuel service, both 89 and 93 octane fuel, along with pump out service, ice, boat ramp, a full-service marine repair shop, a parts/supplies store and a bait & tackle shop. There are clean bath houses and picnic pavilions with grills, a horse shoe pit and a fire pit (a perfect place to watch the sunset). There are several nearby restaurants that deliver and a nearby grocery store open 24 hours. Transients are welcome. Pets are allowed.

Our location gives you easy access to the open waters of the Chesapeake Bay. From the Marina, it’s a short ride to Gunpowder River. From there, it is a quick (no speed limit) and scenic 7 mile ride to the Chesapeake Bay. These miles of smooth water are ideal for water sports and pleasure boating. Conservation efforts have resulted in a significant crab and fish population. This is ideal for crabbers and anglers. If you enjoy overnight stays on your vessel, Maxwell Point is a sheltered, deep and sandy bottomed cove tucked on the Gunpowder River.
